Nydalens Skiklub was founded in 1886, and the first big organized activites in the club were xc skiing, soccer, ski jumping, shooting and singing (!). The orienteering division was founded in 1945, and today we form about 80% of all the activitiy in the club. Nydales Skiklub has in total about 440 members.

Over the past 50 years the orienteering club has established itself among the top elite and social clubs in Norway. Some our our elite results over the past years:

• Gold Norw. champs relay: Men 1954, 96, 97, 99. Women 1968, 2000, 2005
• Gold World champs relay: Astrid Hansen (1968), Elisabeth Ingvaldsen (1999)
• Gold Norwegian champs: Bjørg Westerlund (1950), Elisabeth Ingvaldsen (2003), Marianne Andersen (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), Hans Trøan (2008)
• Gold World junior champs.: Synne Lea (1994)
• Silver World champs: Carl Henrik Bjørseth (1999), Marianne Andersen (2006, 2008)
• Bronze World champs: Carl Henrik Bjørseth (2001), Marianne Andersen (2007)
• Tiomila: Men 4 (1999). Women 1 (2006).
• Jukola: Men 2 (2000). Venla: Women 2 (2008)
• Norwegian team champs: 2 (1994)

We offer an extensive athletic program to our members, with organized trainings three to four times a week. For more information, check out our current program (unfortunately only available in norwegian). Our athletic offer includes tailored program for elites, as well as for beginners, kids and the average runner.

The social offer in Nydalens Skiklub is unique, and you will find nothing like it in any other place. We boast a large group of non-elite members that are into orienteering for the fun of it, and this results in a number of social events througout the year. You might have heard about the legendary 5th team of Nydalen...

The club has got a good and steady economy based on sponsors and voluntary work, where our greatest source of income is the annual flea market in the autumn.
